Set 2 - Woodshop Tool Set (Skilled)

Set 2 -  Woodshop Tools Set (Skilled)

Add these to Set 1 and you have the complete list of tools detailed in Article 22 of “The Background – A Guide to Working with Wood”. Often when people are starting something like this they are not sure if they will continue; they need enough tools to make their first project (something like the “Creepie” Stool, which is the first project in the Lethenty Mill furniture making course) and they want decent tools that can be used for other projects, in other words to give them a sensible basic tool kit. That’s why we have split this comprehensive range of tools into Set 1 and Set 2. Should you wish to purchase both sets simultaneously, please contact us to discuss a discount.

Again these are professional quality tools including a Roberts and Lee Cross-cut panel saw and an EC Emmerich (ECE) blockplane.

Another ECE product is the Hand Router or Grannie’s Tooth which is ideal for levelling out a dado.

There are 4 ECE chisels included in this set – 6, 10, 18 and 20mm to add to the 12mm chisel in Set 1 to give a good all-round set of quality chisels.

There are 3 Gauges in this set - Marking, Cutting and Mortice - and ECE Cam clamps for quick clamping when the glue is drying fast.

The Combination Stone comes with a wooden box and should be lubricated with oil each time it is used. Penetrating oil is fine but an application of honing oil or paraffin now and again is good for keeping the surface keen. Try to use the surface evenly rather than rubbing away the middle; a hollow stone is not much good.
